Inter is a fully digital financial institution with a financial "Super App" that allows its 41+ million customers to manage everything in just a few clicks. Inter was the first bank in Latin America to operate in the cloud and offered the first free digital account in Brazil.

THE CHALLENGE

The core challenge for Belvo was to provide an infrastructure capable of supporting the massive scale of a Super App with ambitions to exceed 60 million account holders by 2026. Simply possessing raw Open Finance data is not a differentiator; the real value lies in the intelligence and categorization of that data to redefine the credit journey and increase profitability.

Beyond technical robustness, Belvo orchestrates multiple data sources, eliminating manual and obsolete processes—such as income verification via physical documents. By integrating Open Finance and employment data (INSS) into a single intelligence layer, the goal is to read, categorize, and interpret enormous amounts of data, transforming them into real value.

Belvo transformed Inter’s credit journey into a frictionless experience. By eliminating the need for manual income proof and extensive forms, Inter utilizes Belvo's infrastructure to validate employment data and financial history instantly and automatically.

This approach does more than just speed up credit approval; it allows for the re-engagement of previously rejected profiles, reducing delinquency through a 360-degree view of the customer's financial behavior. The result is a much more efficient operation with lower technological costs and a greater capacity to scale hyper-personalized, highly competitive products.

HOW IT WORKS

Integration of Belvo technology into Inter

Inter utilizes Belvo's Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) via a white-label model, integrated directly into its own credit experience and journey.

Enrichment with income and Open Finance data

The solution combines alternative income data with Open Finance information to expand and qualify the financial analysis of customers.

Consent and operation within Inter’s Environment

The operation takes place under Inter’s regulatory license, while Belvo handles consent management and the technical orchestration of data in a secure and transparent manner.

THE RESULTS

The volume of Open Finance data requests exploded in just a few months. From the start of the partnership in August through the end of November, the number of consent requests surpassed 210,000, reaching over 46,000 connections in a single day.

Efficiency matched this scale: the success rate rose from 62% to 76% during this period. This momentum is also reflected in employment data, where requests reached 146,000 in December—a 150% increase between November and December alone.
