And the Belvo Awards goes to... Meet our brand ambassadors!

Beyond the screens and across the borders, our team is the heartbeat of everything we build. This year’s awards were a loud, human reminder of the values that keep the “belvolution” moving forward.

Building a world-class team in a global and mostly remote context is for sure not the easiest task, but being born entirely in this context, we came up with a few solutions that help to keep the team engaged and motivated. After months of collaborating across time zones, our offsite Belvolution serves as a grounded reminder of who is actually behind the code, the spreadsheets, and the strategy.

One of the most anticipated moments of the offsite is the Belvo Awards, a ceremony that is everything but a formal affair with stiff speeches. It is loud, it is occasionally chaotic, and this year it was led by two people who have seen almost every chapter of the company’s story: Thiago and Dom.

As four-year veterans, they brought something to the stage that can’t be manufactured, maybe we can call it “institutional memory”? Their humor was the kind that only develops after years of shared deadlines, making the ceremony feel a little bit less like a corporate event and more like a long-overdue family dinner.

The awards themselves were designed to spotlight the culture that actually moves the needle at Belvo. So let's get to it - our awarded brand ambassadors!

Ownership is in the details

We talk a lot about "getting things done," but Montse (the Closer Award) showed us what that looks like in practice. She’s the person who proved that radical ownership isn't just about executing, it’s about the grit required to coordinate between different teams and make sure our products deliver real value to the business and our users.

While Montse focuses on the finish, Caio (the Pioneer Award) is usually at the start, making things a little uncomfortable in the best way possible. As one of the brains behind our data engine, Caio makes innovation happen by being relentlessly curious enough to ask "why" until the status quo breaks. He reminds the team that if we aren’t disrupting our own processes, someone else will.

The Closer Award (Getting things done) – Montse Executing with radical ownership and high standards. / The Pioneer Award (Relentless curiosity) – Caio A creative soul who always asks "why?" and disrupts the status quo.

Using growth as a multiplier

Belvo has always bet on the idea that talent is boundless, and Marcela (the Exponential Award) is the living proof. Her trajectory over the last year wasn’t just about her own professional development (though that was remarkable!), but it was about how she pulled her team up with her. In a culture that values constant growth, Marcela has become a multiplier.

Then there’s the "glue" that keeps the team together when things get heavy. Vicky (the Culture Catalyst) was recognized for being the person who ensures that "fun-loving" isn't just something we say, but something we feel. She manages to tackle the hardest problems while keeping the room’s spirits high, which is a reminder that we do our best work when we actually enjoy the people we’re doing it with.

Together, Marcela and Vicky are responsible for the vital behind-the-scenes work from the Finance team that keeps the engine running, including the coordination and payout of the company bonus - needless to say, when that particular milestone was mentioned, the collective cheers were heavy enough to shake the walls.

Building bridges and staying steady

In a global team, it's very important that diversity doesn't remain just a People metric, and at Belvo, it’s our reality. Nahuel (the Bridge Builder) was honored for being the IT lead who quite literally fixes everything for us. From technical troubleshooting to being the first friendly face that onboards every single new Belvoer, Nahuel builds a culture of respect and support that helps distance feel irrelevant.

On the flip side of that connection is the grit required to sustain it. Karla (the Unshakable) earned her title by leading through pressure with a composure that is, frankly, contagious. Our "master of debugs", she treats obstacles as lessons rather than dead ends, providing a steady hand when the technical landscape gets turbulent.

The day's highest honor went to Renan (the Belvolution MVP). Renan is our innovation sage, representing the Intelligence team and often helping Belvoers' new AI process-improvement ideas come to life. He embodies Belvo's North Star and the deep, earned trust that makes him essential for our technical evolution.

The Bridge Builder (Diversity matters) – Nahuel Fostering an environment of respect and equity. / The Unshakable (Resilience) – Karla Turning obstacles into leverage and leading the team to "fail forward." / The Belvolution MVP (All Values) – Renan Representing the total "Belvo Spirit" this year.

An extra bit of fun

Between the major categories, the room took a moment to celebrate the parts of ourselves that don't usually make it into a performance review. There were cheers for the Best Pet Cameo (a nod to the cute ferret and flurry chickens who have made more than one surprise appearance on a team call) and a genuinely enthusiastic round of applause for the Most Epic Hair, which went, with peak irony, to the sleekest and most aerodynamic head in the company - low-maintenance and efficient, just like Belvo's products.

Why we do this

As the 2026 offsite wrapped up, the awards stayed behind as more than just physical objects. They serve as a reminder that culture isn't built in a vacuum or written in a handbook. It’s built by people like Montse, Caio, and Renan, and everyone else in that room who shows up with curiosity, resilience, and a bit of humor.

We don't celebrate these wins to check a box. We celebrate them because, in a remote world, taking the time to see and acknowledge each other is how we keep the "Belvolution" alive.
