Belvo MCP is now available as an official connector in Claude, Anthropic’s AI assistant. Anyone in Brazil or Mexico can connect their own accounts through Belvo for free and ask Claude about their finances, with every answer drawn from verified, consented financial data.
We’re the engineers who built it, and in this post we show how to set it up, what it looks like in action, and what we’re building behind the scenes!
How to set it up
All you need is a Claude account and at least one supported source: bank accounts through Open Finance or employment records (INSS) in Brazil, or employment records (IMSS) or tax records (SAT) in Mexico. Setup takes a few minutes:
01Add Belvo MCP in Claude
Open the Belvo listing in Claude’s Connectors Directory and select Connect. You can also find it under Settings > Connectors by searching for Belvo.
02Link your Belvo access
When Claude asks, sign in with the same account you used to connect your data, so Claude can reach the accounts you authorized.
03Create your Belvo account
Go to Belvo’s connect page and sign up with your email or your Google account.
04Connect your accounts
Choose what you want to share and follow your institution’s consent flow. In Brazil, bank data is shared through the regulated Open Finance channels, with your authorization. You can connect one source or several.
SEE IT WORKING IN CLAUDE
And then, start asking away. A typical exchange looks like this:
You ask: “Show my inflows and top spending categories from the last three months.”
Claude: shows inflows and outflows per account, with spending by category in a chart.

You follow up: “Which category grew the most compared with the three months before?”
Claude: compares month over month and lists the transactions behind the increase.

Behind the scenes, four things happen on every question:
- Claude picks the right tool. Belvo publishes a description of each tool, such as balances, transactions, income, employment history, or invoices, and Claude chooses the ones the question needs.
- Belvo checks identity, consent, and scope. Every request is untrusted until those three check out. The connector answers only for the accounts a person authorized.
- Belvo returns structured data. Transactions arrive categorized and in one format for every institution.
- Claude writes the answer. It reasons over verified records, so the numbers in the answer match the source.
Build faster: MCP servers tailored to your data workflow
The connector is the first place anyone can see our technology at work. Belvo MCP gives anyone a free, hands-on look at what our data can do inside an AI assistant.
For Belvo customers, we also offer a suite of MCP servers that sit on top of the connection your team already has with us. Each covers a different stage of building with financial data: integrating, reading one customer’s data, and analyzing a whole portfolio.
What comes next
Being an official Anthropic partner is one step in a broader plan: taking Belvo’s infrastructure to wherever people and their agents work. Claude is the first AI assistant where Belvo MCP is an official connector, and it won’t be the last. We’re building connectors and tools for other AI platforms, so people and teams can reach Belvo from whichever assistant they already use.
As agents show up in more places, they’ll do more than read financial data. They’ll start acting on it, and the next step is agentic payments: payments that an AI agent starts, prepares, or completes, while a person still approves them. In Brazil, Pix already settles money in seconds, and Open Finance lets people authorize payments from their own bank app. So what does it take for an agent to pay with Pix, safely and at scale? That’s what we’re building next, and we’ll share more soon.
