Belvo team's offsites: The world is our office

At Belvo, we are building the leading Open Finance platform across Latin America. Our team is spread across Brazil, Mexico, and beyond, working in a remote and hybrid setup that gives us flexibility without sacrificing connection.

But real connection takes more than a great video call. That is why, once a year, we do something about it: we gather the team and go somewhere together. We call it our offsite benefit, and it has become one of the most anticipated moments of the Belvo year.

More than a team trip, it is a strategic investment

The offsite benefit exists because we believe that great companies are built by great teams, and great teams are built on trust. Working remotely across countries and time zones means we get a lot done, but it also means those spontaneous moments of connection, the lunch table conversation, the hallway detour, can be harder to come by.

So we create them on purpose. The offsite is a dedicated week for each team to travel together, think together, and, honestly, just have fun together. Whether that means visiting one of our offices for deep strategy sessions or heading somewhere completely different, the point is the same: slow down, look each other in the eye, and remember that the people behind the Slack avatars are genuinely interesting humans.

The results speak for themselves: teams come back more aligned, more energized, and better prepared for what comes next. And in a company growing as fast as Belvo, that matters a lot.

“The week we hold our team offsite always reminds me of how incredible the people I work with are. The collaboration, the exchange of ideas, the process suggestions, and the way we work through next steps all flow very naturally. These meetups show that the trust we build day after day in the digital space carries over just as strongly in person. We also had the opportunity to take part in product deep dives, a mini hackathon, and events organized by the team itself. These moments allowed us to dig into challenges and walk away with practical solutions for everyday work. Seeing that collaboration happen in real time is amazing, and it always leaves me looking forward to the next gathering.” - Yasmin de Lima, Senior Product Designer at Belvo.

What the teams got up to

The XP team headed out for a proper Brazilian meal, led by Federico. For many team members joining from abroad, it was a first real taste of the local food culture, and exactly the kind of experience that turns colleagues into friends.

"Working together in person, exchanging ideas and arriving at solutions collaboratively, was something we rarely get to do in our day-to-day. The sessions on product, AI, and code gave me a real window into how my colleagues think and solve problems. But beyond the technical side, stepping away from the screens and strengthening our connection as a team made the whole experience even more meaningful." - Isabelly Monteiro, Associate Software Engineer at Belvo.

"The offsite is hands-down one of our most impactful perks. It bridges the gap that remote work sometimes creates by injecting real human interaction and fun back into our team dynamic. By stepping out of our daily routine, we created the perfect environment for deep team building and high-energy brainstorming. We had multiple sessions of product deep dives, pair programming and the simple fact of being in the same room gave different pace and energy. It’s an invaluable investment in both our culture and our productivity.” - Federico Viviani, Engineering Manager at Belvo.

Karla took the Customer Engineering team to a laser tag arena, because nothing levels the playing field and breaks the ice quite like friendly corporate combat. Strategy, teamwork, and a healthy dose of competitive energy were all on full display.

One of the highlights of the offsite season was a moment that brought everyone together, teams and founders included. We gathered in Brazil for a cooking and mixology class where we learned to make Brazilian and Latin American snacks from scratch: bolinho de feijoada, ceviche, and more. Then came the cocktail pairing, where we learned to mix the drinks ourselves. Having the founders in the room for this one made it feel like something special, a reminder that at Belvo, the whole company is still small enough to share a kitchen.

"Great to have the team gathered in São Paulo for a few days. Nothing beats face to face interaction to learn, discuss and build stronger bonds. We had quite a few hands-on sessions, from "the perfect pitch" to AI prospection. And had great fun exploring the city together!” - Rodrigo Franciscani, Head of Sales at Belvo.

Most teams used the offsite to explore our offices, soak up the cities, and make the most of everything those spaces have to offer. And the Customer Success team was no different. They carved out dedicated time to slow down, share real conversations, and build the kind of trust that makes a distributed team feel like a single unit.

“This offsite was an incredible opportunity to strengthen relationships, build trust, and grow as a more connected team. Since we work across Brazil and Mexico, and between complementary functions like Solutions Engineering and Customer Success, being together helped us better understand each other’s challenges and perspectives. We left more aligned, more connected, and better prepared to scale our team and support Belvo’s next stage of growth.” - Thiago Quartarollo, Head of Customer Success at Belvo.
